NEW J-NET WELTER CHAMP!!!

Big up to Koji, last wednesday he gave everything in his title match for the J-NET welter belt.

He was maybe too much carefull in the early rounds (does that remind you someone?).
But then from the 4th round he didnt stop going forward and kicking like a crazy.

At the end of the 5th an extra round was needed to demark them.

In that 6th round he really going in strong, he was the agressor during all the round, his stamina was great.
I think his best weapon was his mental. He seemed unstopable.
Big up to you my friend!!

and one more belt a the scramble, that make it 5!

the last but not the least...

to end the week end on a exciting note, our dear Wentz was facing the super fly weight champion from M.A.

for the occasion wentz made a new costume. lets just say that its looking good...........on him ;)

This interfederation fight was a super fight 3*3rounds.

Because super fly is very light, they use very light gloves :
(damned 6OZ in your face!!)
It started straight with hard blow from both.

Wentz was very complete, kick, punch, elbows, jumping knees,...
He was also moving very well, nive step works, with good moves. Varying his attack and defense at a good pace.

but i also was scared at some moments, like when during sending a knee he get countered by a big hook in the face. Fortunatly it wasnt enought to rock wentz out.

In the last round, the M.A champion did throw a good elbow that cut wentz on the forehead (6points) but it wasnt blooding that much so after a quick medical check the fight went to the decision in favor of our scramble mate.

congratz Wentz, we can all go relax ourself now...

what?? its already work tomorow morning?!?

Sunday bloody sunday

Sunday was a sad day for the scramble gym, Both fighters lose by decisions.

I dont know if Koji wan't really in the fight or if he was just too carefull, but it result in being too long to get in the fight during the first round. Too much observation and he received too much hit.
In the second he start to lend some good middle, and for the last round start working the clinch.
But that wasnt enought to compensate the lost score earlier, Koji knew it.

Then M-1 event, what to say?...
Masuda's opposent was just too tall, too skilled and too strong.
A clinch speciallist, his knee looked very powerfull (specially in the nuts...2times low blow :-/...)
Masuda couldnt find a strategie, but keept up coming back at it, during all the 5 rounds.

Watching them in tough situations like that remind me the hardness of the sports.
Both of them, facing a stronger opponent or having to catch up with a already lost score, still they never gave up and keep going until the final gong.

I will work on my mind too, thanks for the lesson :)

ready for the week end

Once again a lot of event this week end.

You already know about the AJKF event, but there is two more event at wich i will attend on sunday.

First the J-net event named "J-FIGHT in SHINJUKU~vol.6~"
My team mate Koji is the main event. If he win that fight, he will next fight for the title.
The last time i saw Koji fight was during a 1 day tournament in wich he beat the #1 of his ranking, in the final he did well until he get stop by the doctor because of a deep cut.
He is hungry to get back on the ring, cant wait to see that fight.

Right after this fight, all the scramble crew is gonna rush untill Diffa Ariake to assist Masuda's match in the event :
"M-1 FAIRTEX SINGHA BEER ムエタイチャレンジ Legend of elbows2008"
Once again Masuda is gonna take on a Thai fighter.
For remind, in his last fight in may Masuda did get the decision after a really hard fight against a top ranker Radjadamnern nakmuay.

Japanese kickboxing

If somebody would have told me 3 years ago i would go into kickboxing, i would have say something like"Whut?!?".

What i didnt know at the time is that japanese kickboxing (like AJKF) is pretty similar to muay thai. You can use "Hidji"(elbows), "Hisa"(knee), even "KUBIZUMO"(clinch) is allowed.

Most of the bout are 3 rounds of 3 min (1minute interval between each)with an extra round in case of draw.
Except for Titles match, Internationals match (with foreigner guest) and some tournaments wich are in 5 rounds.

Also there are different organisations of kickboxing here in japan. Im not gonna tell every specificity about them all, but quicly :

- AJKF : ok, you know already.
- NJKF : new japan kickboxing fed. Like precedent
- SKB : shin nihon kickboxing fed. (shin = new) also same
- J-NET WORK: still same (prononcé en français ca me fait toujours marrer)
- M-1: real muay thai, always some thai fighters on the card
- RISE : k1 rules, punchs scores a lot, quick-clinch allowed
- SHOOTBOXING : they wear pants, and can submit during stand up (armlock, strangulation,..)

Of course there are some other organisations (MARTIAL ARTS,...) but i will tell about once i will have been to one of their event.
For now im talking mostly about organisation where scramble fighters are competing.
