If somebody would have told me 3 years ago i would go into kickboxing, i would have say something like"Whut?!?".
What i didnt know at the time is that japanese kickboxing (like AJKF) is pretty similar to muay thai. You can use "Hidji"(elbows), "Hisa"(knee), even "KUBIZUMO"(clinch) is allowed.
Most of the bout are 3 rounds of 3 min (1minute interval between each)with an extra round in case of draw.
Except for Titles match, Internationals match (with foreigner guest) and some tournaments wich are in 5 rounds.
Also there are different organisations of kickboxing here in japan. Im not gonna tell every specificity about them all, but quicly :
- AJKF : ok, you know already.
- NJKF : new japan kickboxing fed. Like precedent
- SKB : shin nihon kickboxing fed. (shin = new) also same
- J-NET WORK: still same (prononcé en français ca me fait toujours marrer)
- M-1: real muay thai, always some thai fighters on the card
- RISE : k1 rules, punchs scores a lot, quick-clinch allowed
- SHOOTBOXING : they wear pants, and can submit during stand up (armlock, strangulation,..)
Of course there are some other organisations (MARTIAL ARTS,...) but i will tell about once i will have been to one of their event.
For now im talking mostly about organisation where scramble fighters are competing.

Komya vs Saenchai Sor Kingstar
Good challenge for my japanese frien Komya, to take on a legend like Saenchai Sor Kingstar.
Also, handicap for the thai to accept the match at 67kg (the guy fight usually around 61kg if im correct)
Also, handicap for the thai to accept the match at 67kg (the guy fight usually around 61kg if im correct)

That was the main event, needless to say the crowd was on fire for this bout.
Just have a look at the presentation of the fighters :
As expected Saenchai is incredebly skilled, and show his signature's kick from the second round.

But althought Komya received a down in second round from punch, he did come back very well by using dangerous combinations.
Still the experience of the +200fights keep the thai from getting any damages.
Here is a video i took during the first round.
Its absolutely NOT representative of the fight as its the first minute of the first round (then i get bored and stop recording)
Good thing to komya to get 5 rounds with the one considered as "the best pound for pound" nakmuay of the moment.
Keep it up my friendWENTZ IS SUPER-FLY WEIGHT CHAMPION!!!
Last friday, wentz won the title of super fly weight champion of japan by KO in the 4th round.
The fight went good, wentz keep the pressur all long, sents a lots of kicks and knee into the left leg of his opponent, to finally finish the fight by a body knew from wich is opponent couldnt stand up for few minutes.

Then, this sunday 5 october 2008, my good friend Komya will take on the well famous Saenchai Sor Kingstar.
Komya is a top ranker from J-NET WORK organisation.
And Saenchai, well...no need to introduce him.
Im really looking forward to this fight. Anything would happen, its gonna be rich in experience for Komya.
