tought week-end

Didnt even had the time to celebrate with the new champion of rise, that it was already time to wake up for the AJKF event hold in shinjuku face.

first surprise, even a sunday morning there is always too much people everywhere.

arrived at shinjuku face, i was kind of pissed off that the girl at the counter ask me what i wanted.... Yes, you can be the only gaijin fighting in AJKF + win a belt, you are still a nobody for the ticket sellers ahaha

when i arrived, Itakura was already checking the ring.
He was more relax then usually and did a really good match.
his opponent was probably deconcerted by his new stance. (Naoto became a southpaw fighter recently)
He could connect a lots of kick, knees, elbows and punch, but still his oponent was the kind
tought able to take damage.
Naoto won by unanimous decision!!
And now lets go for the final sprint, wentz at J-net

TITLE MATCH

Here it comes, the big match.
The one i was training for so long, AJKF welter weight title.

Starting my professional kickboxing career 2 years ago i was in the same time happy to get this opportunity and lil bit stressed too.

My opposent Yuya Yamamoto looks quite confident from the beginning.
to be honnest i have a big respect for him, i remember when i arrived in japan i saw his fight in K1max japan.
I was impressed how a so young guy is doing so well.

The match start straight without observations.

We were exchanging low kicks against knees...

punches against elbows...

i worked a lot with clinh and knee, but he was still absorbing damages...

In the fourth round i could get him with an elbow, resulting a cut nasty enought to the medical staff to stop the fight.

Im the CHAMPION!!!!
For the first time in history, a foreigner became champion of japanese kickboxing.

Right on time for my birthday :)

Lil flash back at last summer

Here we are, 22/08/2008 in shinjuku face.
My opposent Kin toko came to advenge his lost by tko (cut) in our precedent bout(11/05/2007). For me it was time to come back after 3 consecutive loss.

Japanese kickboxing

If somebody would have told me 3 years ago i would go into kickboxing, i would have say something like"Whut?!?".

What i didnt know at the time is that japanese kickboxing (like AJKF) is pretty similar to muay thai. You can use "Hidji"(elbows), "Hisa"(knee), even "KUBIZUMO"(clinch) is allowed.

Most of the bout are 3 rounds of 3 min (1minute interval between each)with an extra round in case of draw.
Except for Titles match, Internationals match (with foreigner guest) and some tournaments wich are in 5 rounds.

Also there are different organisations of kickboxing here in japan. Im not gonna tell every specificity about them all, but quicly :

- AJKF : ok, you know already.
- NJKF : new japan kickboxing fed. Like precedent
- SKB : shin nihon kickboxing fed. (shin = new) also same
- J-NET WORK: still same (prononcé en français ca me fait toujours marrer)
- M-1: real muay thai, always some thai fighters on the card
- RISE : k1 rules, punchs scores a lot, quick-clinch allowed
- SHOOTBOXING : they wear pants, and can submit during stand up (armlock, strangulation,..)

Of course there are some other organisations (MARTIAL ARTS,...) but i will tell about once i will have been to one of their event.
For now im talking mostly about organisation where scramble fighters are competing.
